Losing job and 30% tax ruling

Question:

I lost my job and may not have a new job within 3 months - it could be 4 months. How can I keep the 30% tax ruling?

Answer:

To be able to get the 30% ruling again for your new employment the gap between the last workday at your previous employer and the day you sign an employment contract with your new employer should not be more than 3 months. So the signing date is important, not the actual first workday. You may be able to arrange that the signing date takes place within these 3 months. If not you will lose the 30% ruling.

1 question: if i signed off the actual contract after 3 month and 1 week and got my official job offer exactly within 3 month period, will i lose the 30% ruling?

Important is that the new job was secured within 3 months. The signing date is a good indication, but if you signed the contract just after 3 months but you can prove (with correspondence) that you and your employer agreed within the 3 months period that you were hired then you should be able to convince the tax authorities.

Hello, I have simular case, I had have ruling in the past(I living in NL about 1 year), but I quit my job and in 5 month I did not have official job in NL, but I stayed in country. Basicity I did self-study for my new profession. And In 5 month I found new job, And I applied to ruling second time. But my request was rejected. So my question, can I get ruling in future? Or If i failed once I never can apply for ruling any more?

Since the gap between your previous job and the day of arranging the new job was more than 3 months, you don‘t qualify for the 30% ruling anymore. This will be the case as long as you are living/working in the Netherlands.
