Euro mortgage

Dear sir, madam,

Can I get a mortgage through a Dutch bank to buy a Dutch property for buy to let, when I live in the UK?

Under the current economic situation this may turn out to be very difficult. Banks are already very cautious when they have to lend out money to purchase a property due to the decreasing house prices and growing unemployment. They also prefer to lend out money only if the property is used as main residence. In the Netherlands we don‘t really have "buy to let" mortgages like in the UK.

On top of this a bank will even be more cautious if the lender is not living in the Netherlands which will make it much more difficult for them to get their money back in case the mortgage repayments are not made and the property has to be sold by the bank with a loss. This unfortunately happens more and more.

So you might have a small chance to secure are mortgage but it can be very difficult. Contact a mortgage advisor for support.
