BSN while living outside the Netherlands. How can I get one to receive pension from the Netherlands?

We live in Canada since 1981 and I need a sofi number/BSN for my pension claim. How can I get one?

The answer is for a partner, so in your case you don’t have to send a marriage certificate and for the other two documents, these will of course be your documents and not your partners. I am not sure whether this option works, but unless you come to the Netherlands this is the only option I am aware of.

I left the Netherlands in 2001. I am a USA permanent resident. I need to renew my Dutch passport which has a number in there. Is this ok or do I need a bsn number??? Please let me know.thanks

@kitty Your passport can indeed mention the sofinumber. I remember that the number indeed used to be mentioned in the passport as part of a longer number. I am not sure which exact numbers it should be. But you do not need a BSN (which you won
