Are the fees for an international school covered by the 30% ruling?

Question:

I read from the 30% ruling conditions that the fees for international school for primary and secondary education for the child of someone who qualifies for the 30% ruling are also fully covered. Is this true?

Answer:

The fees for the international school can be reimbursed tax free by the employer on top of the 30% allowance. It is “can” and not “must” or “have to”. So it depends on your employer if he is willing to reimburse something. Since it will be an extra cost for an employer most employers don’t offer a reimbursement. So the fees are not automatically covered.
