Tax return - Taxreturn - Tax form - Taxform - Tax statement
Did you also receive a blue envelop from the Dutch tax authorities? Every year the tax authorities want to know all about your personal situation. You have to be sure you provide the requested information, but don't provide more information then necessary.
If you don't dare to do it because of the complex tax system or if you just don't like to fill in the form yourself you can always ask us to assist you. The tax returns for 2011 and previous years can be filed (up to 5 years back). If you haven't received a tax form yet then the question is whether you have to file a tax return. This can indeed be the situation. In our Frequently Asked Questions section we answer this question. You can also find more information in our brochure: Filing a tax return in the Netherlands.
Procedure
- Download and complete our client questionnaire.
- Send the questionnaire together with copies of the required documents to our office in Utrecht either by post, email or fax or make an appointment for a personal meeting (in that case send us the page with your personal details). Our contact details are mentioned under Contact us.
- Send us a copy of your identity paper, for example passport or residence permit.
- If necessary we will arrange a time extension for the tax return. We can use a special ruling with the tax authorities which allows us to get a time extension for the income tax return until May 1st of the next year. For the tax return for 2010 this will then be May 1st 2012.
- We will prepare your tax return based on the information provided by you. The more information you provide (even if you are not sure whether it is relevant) the sooner we can complete your tax return and the lower the invoice will be.
- A copy of the tax return will be sent to you together with the tax calculation and fiscal report. You have to sign the statement of agreement and send it back to us. After receipt we will file the tax return electronically. If an M form needs to be filed then this must be done on paper though.
- The tax authorities will send the tax assessment directly to you. This may take some time, especially when an M or C form is involved. Interest will be calculated. We will request the tax authorities to send us an electronic copy of the tax assessment.
