I am starting a new job next month where I have to travel to Delft from Amsterdam which is roughly 60km one way and 120 km return. My company is paying some amount for travel but it will take more than what they are paying if I use my own car. Is it possible to deduct these expenses from final income tax return or not? If not then I have to negotiate with the company for more compensation.
Costs of travel with your own car are not deductible in your tax return. There is only a deduction possible if public transport is used.

Your employer can reimburse the travel costs tax free to you up to € 0.19 per kilometre.
