Can the documentation for the 30% ruling application be provided in another language?

Question:

Dear Expatax,

I am preparing all the documentation together with my company for the 30 ruling request. I have part of my documentation in Italian for my residence certificate and my diplomas. Is it going to be a problem for the request? Should I prepare a translated version?
Hope to have an answer as soon as possible.

Answer:

The application for the 30% ruling itself should be in Dutch or in English. The same is prefered for the employment contract. The diplomas and the residence permit can be in another language provided they can be understood by the tax authorities. If they have a question they may ask you for a translation, but normally this is not required. The tax authorities will be able to understand the Italian documents.
