Am I eligible for a tax benefit for my Indian mortgage?

I migrated to NL from India under the30% ruling. I have a mortgage still running in India which I fund from my salary income in NL. Am I eligible for any tax benefit in NL on the payment of interest and principle amount of my mortgage during 2015 in India?

It is only possible to deduct the interest on a mortgage which is used for the principle residence. Since you are living in the Netherlands the property in India is no longer your main residence. Repayment of the principle amount of a mortgage can never be deducted.

This means you can‘t claim a deduction for the foreign mortgage in your Dutch tax return.
