Institution responsible

The cash benefit for incapacity for work is paid to you by the professional association which paid your sickness benefits.

Steps to be taken

1. If you have been insured in one or more other Member States, you must immediately notify the professional association of this fact; you must provide them with all the necessary information and, in all cases, the full name and address of the institutions with which you have been insured.

2. If, as an employee, you are in receipt of a cash benefit for incapacity for work of 45 % or more, you will, in principle, be eligible for health care insurance. Your professional association will provide you with all the necessary information on this matter.

3. If you work in the Netherlands, you may also be eligible for the application of a supplementary pension scheme. Your employer can give you information and will inform you of any rights you have in this respect.
